Happy Crappy Monday......Volume 11.0

Happy Crappy Monday Morning……Volume 11.0
By: J-Shannon
Christmas has come and gone, and it’s now time to look forward to the New Year’s Eve weekend, and big Bowl Games. I myself will be in Jacksonville, FL, for the Gator Bowl. I’m going to watch Mississippi State battle with the Wolverines of Michigan. Personally, I don’t care who wins the game, as long as it is a good game, with some good Weather, and a couple of ice cold Brews.

1.       Monday Night Football Countdown

It’s another Monday Night, and that means there is another game on Monday Night Football. Normally, I would watch the game no matter who is playing, but this game is an exceptionally large football game. The Dirty Birds are battling their arch rival Saints, with the opportunity to win the division. Even if the birds lose tonight, they will have an opportunity to wrap up the division next week against the pathetic Panthers. But I think by winning tonight, the Birds would be making a solid statement, a statement saying they are the team to beat this year in the NFC. I’m hoping the Dome is packed and rocking, and hoping that the fans of the Birds are preparing themselves for some playoff football! Let’s make a statement, and make it possible to rest a couple of starters next week.

2.       Blizzard up and Down the East Coast
Did we get a white Christmas in the South East? Well not really, but we did get a day after Christmas snow storm. It was nice to see the family out playing in the snow, and having a good time. I’m actually surprised, usually the South East panics when there is a snow storm. It didn’t seem to crazy this year. My home town ended up with about 4 inches, which isn’t too shabby…..
3.       Deuces Tom Coughlin…
Coach Coughlin, go ahead and start sending your Thank You Cards out. Here is a little suggestion as to what his Thank you cards might look like…..
Dear Eli- Thank you for continually throwing pick after pick. Those 2 turnovers a game sure do help your team get a head start on the opponent.
Dear Matt Dodge- For Christmas, we should have got you a hearing Aid. If I’m not mistaken, I told you to your face not to kick the ball to DeSean Jackson. Thanks for not only kicking it to him, but kicking a line drive to give him plenty of time to see the field and pick and choose his way to the end zone.
Dear Brandon Jacobs- You have one main job on the team: Hold the football, and run with it. How about in the off season, work on part one. HOLD THE FOOTBALL. Thanks.
Dear Justin Tuck and the Rest of the D- Thanks for nothing. Although you have the reputation for being a tough D that knocks out opposing QB’s, you got scorched for 45 points against the Packers Sunday afternoon. Not only did you possibly cost the team the playoffs, but you may have also cost me my job. I think it is only fair for you to pay the $21.95 monthly membership fee for the Gold Membership to Monster.com for me, so that I can post my resume….
So Tom, when you received your pink slip and are about to head out the door, throw up your “Deuces” because you should be a little bit bitter. You would think your team would give you a little more effort on their part to help not only save the team’s season, but also save your job.
4.       24 Hours of A Christmas Story…
Possibly one of the best Idea’s ever. In my household, when Christmas Eve rolls around, 24 Hours of a Christmas Story is on constantly. I honestly feel like I have seen it over 100 times, but when the movie is on in our living room, that’s how I know it is Christmas time.
5.       LeBron wins the first Battle, but Kobe will win the War…
Congrats LeBron and crew, you did your thing on Christmas Day. You took down the Lakers. But it was just one game. I hate to tell you, but if you want to win the ship, you have to beat the Lakers 4 out of 7 times. That’s assuming you get past the Celtics and the Magic. By the way LeBron, keep away from Ron Artest. What were you thinking getting in your little scuffle with him? That dude is from the Bronx, and would beat you down faster than you can say “What should I Do?”
6.       To Catch a Predator, best Show Ever….
If it is late night, and you cant sleep, or if you are feeling bad about yourself and need a moral boost, change it to MSNBC and check out “To Catch a Predator.” This show is priceless. What better people to make fun of than a 46 year old married man, who is chatting about sex to a 13 year old child. I love when the loser shows up at the door, with a 12 pack of “Mikes Hard Lemonade” and some condoms. When the host, Chris Hanson, asks the predator what he is doing at the little girl’s house, the usual reply is something along the lines of: “we were just going to hang out, or we def. weren’t going to have sex.” It makes it even better when the host reads the transcript from the online chat. Check it out if you have nothing better to do, it will def. make you feel better about yourself.
7.       A look back at the 2005 NFL Draft

Let’s take a trip down memory lane, to the 2005 NFL Draft. Why the 2005 draft? Well I was watching a game this weekend and it reminded me of the 2005 draft. Think back to who was picked first that year….. You remember? Alex Smith was taken first by the 49ers. They had a choice between him and a guy named Aaron Rodgers, and chose Smith…. Sucks to be the 49ers. It goes to show you that knowing the draft class inside and out is so vitally important to an organization. Some teams get it (Falcons and Patriots) and some teams don’t (Lions and 49ers).

8.       TUESDAY night Football…. Yea I’ll take it…..
So the Blizzard in the North East did do one thing, it rescheduled Sunday night’s game to Tuesday. That works for me, as it looks like I’ll watch NFL games Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday of this week. Hey, no complaints here, the more NFL the better in my book By the way, it will be an Eagles Beat down over old man Favre and the Vikings….
9.       Reality TV…

OK, I am willing to admit I am a sucker for some reality TV. I’ve got a few shows I have been watching lately that I need to pass along….

-Auction Kings-Filmed a block from my house in ATL, follows an auction gallery. Pretty Solid.

-Pawn Stars- Filmed out in Las Vegas, following the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop.

-Storage Wars- Follows guys who buy Storage Units not knowing what’s inside in order to make   $$$

-Swamp People- Follows Hillbillies in the Swamps in Louisiana as they hunt for Gators.

10.   THE TOP 10 in the TOP 10….
In honor of Number 7 above, we have a unique Top 10 this week. Sometimes teams find gold in the first round of the draft, and some teams are lucky enough to find gold in the 6th and 7th rounds. Here is a top 10 list of NFL Players who went UNDRAFTED in the Past 10 YEARS…..
2010- LEGARRETTE BLOUNT-Oregon- The verdict is still out, but it looks like so far Blount is the guy teams are wishing they would have looked at a little harder. Of course his punching a guy in the face post game incident is ultimately why he was passed up, but the Bucs are sure enjoying his hard nosed running…..
2009- ARIAN FOSTER- Tennessee- Who knew an undrafted RB who had a mediocre college career would be starting in front of a guy named Steve Slayton. Foster has killed it all year for the disappointing Texans, and looks to be their back for the next few years. Keep in mind they are paying him next to nothing for all of this work, because he went undrafted.
2008- BENJARVUS GREEN-ELLIS- It is no surprise that the Patriots discovered an undrafted gem. The team has been the model franchise for the past 10 years. They are known for finding guys who fly under the radar, but deliver on the field.
2007- PIERRE THOMAS- Illinois- What has this undrafted RB done for the Saints? Only lead them to the Super Bowl and helped win the game. Thomas has been a nice compliment to Reggie Bush, doing the bulk of the heavy carrying up the middle.
2006- MILES AUSTIN- Monmouth State- It took a couple of years for this one to develop, but Miles has turned into the big play threat for the Cowboys. The guy Is on a team with 2 First Round receiver picks, yet is the Number One guy.
2005- Joshua Cribbs- Kent State- Ask any casual football fan to name a player that plays for the Cleveland Browns, and the majority of people can only name Joshua Cribbs. I actually feel bad for him for being found by the horrible Browns. The guy needs to finish out that contract and get out of their ASAP….
2004 WES WELKER- Texas Tech- I know what you are thinking, another good find by the Patriots. Actually no, the Chargers found Welker, but somehow let him go to New England. Welker is the ultimate possession receiver, slashing up opponents defenses left and right. You don’t think he is valuable, look at Brady’s numbers with him and without him…..
2003 ANTONIO GATES- Kent State- Another Kent State player, Gates has been one of if not the best TE in the past 5 years. Phillip Rivers uses the guy as his security blanket. The man will catch anything thrown in his vicinity, and blocks with the best of them….
2002 JAMES HARRISON- Kent State- I have learned 2 things in doing this list. Number 1, the 2002-2006 Kent State team had some studs playing for them. Number 2, if you are looking for some hidden gems, check Kent State. If you watch Sportscenter, Harrison is no one new to you. He is the guy who gets fined weekly for lighting people up like the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. The man can flat out play linebacker.
2001 ANTONIO PIERCE- Arizona- Antonio was the rock in the middle of the Defense that lead the New York Giants to the Super Bowl. Yea he is out of the league now, but he was one of the best LB’s in the NFL for about 8 solid years.
2000 SHAUN O’HARA- Rutgers- Look at the Giants doing it again. Shaun O’Hara is a stud who to this day anchors the O’Line for the Giants. The man goes to Pro Bowls like it is mandatory in his contract. What a steal for the Giants.

I will be adding the "Non Bro" of the week. This goes to someone who no matter what they do from here on out will never be a Bro no matter what because of something that has happened in the past. This weeks award goes to this guy:

As always, it has been a pleasure. Leave me your thoughts and comments on the facebook post…. See you all Friday morning Suckazzzzzz.

Happy Crappy Monday Morning.....Volume 9.0

Happy Crappy Monday Morning……Volume 9.0
By: J-Shannon
Good Afternoon and Happy Crappy Monday to you guys. This by far is the COLDEST edition of the Crappy Monday so far. Lots of changes and big things happened this weekend, and I’ll do my best to get you caught up on everything that went down. Also, Thanks for help Bro Nameth cross the 10,000 views this month. Your reading keeps us writing….. ENJOY.

1.       Dirty Birdz Flying High Towards the Playoffs…..
Another NFL weekend is in the books, and another win by the Birds. They took on the pathetic looking Carolina Panthers this weekend, and put a hurting on the kittens. The Birds are rolling, and looking like they have their sights set on Dallas and the Super Bowl. Other than the New England Patriots, I can’t see anyone beating the Birds anytime soon. Matty Ice needs to continue just managing the game, and let the stars do what they have to do. Defensively, keep taking the ball away. I’m excited to see how deep this team goes….
2.       Deuces Texas, Muschamp is out….
Things just got worse in Austin. Not only did the Longhorns have a horrible season, but it looks like they are also on the search for a new Defensive Coordinator. Muschamp threw up his deuces as he walked off the University of Texas campus, and is heading to Gator land. I give him credit, he was tired of waiting on Mack Brown to retire, and let’s face it, why not leave before the bad results in Texas start getting pointed his way…..Good Luck in Florida buddy, no pressure there…..
3.       D-Bag on Jets Coaching Staff needs to get a Beat Down….
If you missed the Dolphins vs. the Jets game, you missed a D Bag of a moment. The strength and conditioning coach for the Jets, I don’t know his name, nor do I think he deserves my time to look it up, stuck his leg out and tripped a Miami player as he was running down the sideline. The play was over, and the Miami player had already stepped out of bounds. The coach then leans his knee forward, and trips the player, sending him flying to the ground. This guy needs some serious discipline handed down to him from the league. Don’t forget, Woody Hayes did something similar to this back in the day at Ohio State, and was fired….
4.       Speaking of Deuces, so long Metro Dome….
So it is a good thing that the Vikings are sucking it up this year. They have no chance of making the playoffs, which is good, because they probably wouldn’t have an opportunity to have home field advantage even if they were good enough. The Dome decided today it had had enough of the snow, and caved in. Minnesota has gotten almost 2 feet of snow, and the roof of the Metro Dome completely collapsed. It is kind of fitting when you think about it, the Dome has imploded just like the season of the Vikings. Look at the bright side though; even Mother Nature respects “THE STREAK.” Favre said he would not have been able to play today, but because of mother nature, he has one more day of rest to see if he can give it a go tomorrow…..

5.       Congrats Cam…
Congrats on the Heisman Trophy. I will be even more impressed if it and or the National Championship is still in good standing this time 2 years from now.
6.       Snow Flurries Suck….
Look Mother Nature, if you are going to snow, then snow. If you are going to rain, then rain.  Don’t do this BS flurry business. It pisses me off. I’m hoping for about a foot of snow in ATL this Christmas…..
7.       SEC Coaching is Stacked….
Have you ever stopped to think about just how much talent there is in the SEC Coaching Ranks? What other conference can say they have three coaches who have won National Championships (4 Coaches if you are willing to admit that Gene Chizik will win one this season). I would have admitted during the season that the West was stronger when it came to coaches, but after this weekend The East might have the edge. With the addition of Muschamp, and probably Gus Malzahn, added to Mark Richt and Spurrier, you’re talking some serious talent.
8.       Obama on Mythbusters….
Hey, did anyone else get to see the President on Mythbusters? Neither did I, but I do have one question…. Doesn’t he have more important things on his plate than being a television show? I’m all for not talking politics here on Bro Nameth, but this isn’t even politics, it’s just common sense. I don’t mind the president making public appearances, showing up on talk shows and talking politics, or anything like that, but being on a show like Mythbusters seems to me to be a waste of his time…
9.       Kyle Singler is a Freak…
I know he is a tall, lanky white boy who plays for Duke. But the kid can play basketball. Not only can he play down low and make moves like a big man, but he can also stroke the Threes whenever he feels like it. But the most impressive thing about Singler is his trick shot ability. I actually don’t know what is more impressive, the fact that he makes all of these shots, or the fact that he has so much time to make a video like this…..He still looks like a goofy Ethan Hawke

10. The Top 10 in the Top 10…….
I was spending Sunday afternoon relaxing and flipping back and forth between The RED ZONE Channel (which by the way is the best channel in the history of television) and the movie Major League, and it got me thinking. I decided that for this week’s top 10, I was going to put together a list of goodies for you people to enjoy. Here it is, the Top 10:
TOP 10 FICTIONAL SPORTS MOVIE CHARACTERS OF ALL TIME….. ENJOY.
1.       JESUS SHUTTLESWORTH- He Got Game-   Jesus was a 5 star recruit from Brooklyn, New York, who was being recruited by every top school in the nation. He averaged 32 points and 12 boards his senior year. The kid was a baller…

Favorite Quote: “Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right; he’s fallin’ back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say “What?”

2.       QUINCY MCCALL- Love and Basketball- Quincy’s father was an NBA player for the clippers for 12 years. Although he was highly touted out of high school, his decision to go Pro after his freshmen season was a bad call, and he ended up tearing up his Knee and being let go by the Laker's after his third year…..

Favorite Quote: “If basketball is all you care about, why you bonin’ me? Why don’t you bone Dick Vital?”

3.       RICK “WILD THING” VAUGHN- Major League -Yea he spent time in the big house, but who cares? The man can throw a heater over 100 miles per hour. Who can forget his unique hair, his bad ass glasses, and his wardrobe?
Favorite Quote: “ I got news for you Mr. Brown, you haven’t heard the last of me. You may think I’m shit now, but someday you are gonna be sorry you cut me. I’m gonna catch on somewhere else and every time that I pitch against you I’m gonna stick it up your fuckin’ ass!”
4.       GORDON BOMBAY- The Mighty Ducks- OK, so maybe he shouldn’t count because he is a coach. But what other guy can lead a crappy PEE WEE hockey team from St. Paul Minnesota, to the Jr. Goodwill games the next year and win gold? Of course his team was loaded with talent, with Goldberg, Adam Banks, the Bash Brothers, and Charlie Conway….

Favorite Quote: “Now here is the long and short of it: I hate hockey, and I don’t like kids.”

5.       HAPPY GILMORE- Happy Gilmore- Happy was unique, bad ass, and also didn’t give a shit what anyone thought about him. He could hit the ball a mile, and finally developed a short game. Happy made golf relevant again….
Favorite Quote: “During high school, I played junior hockey and still hold two league records: most time spent in the penalty box; and I was the only guy to ever take off his skate and try to stab someone.”
6.       WILLIE BEAMEN – Any Given Sunday- Beamen sat on the sidelines for the first 4 years of his career, but after the starting QB          for the Miami Sharks went down, Beamen stepped up and lead the Sharks to the playoffs. It’s funny how similar his game looks to Mike Vicks… Not to mention Beaman had a sick music video….

Favorite Quote: “I’ve always been a star, ya’ll just didn’t know it yet.”

7.       STEVE LATTIMER- The Program- Laittimer makes the cut strictly because he is a juiced up freak of nature. The man was huge in the movie, and made some plays. Yea he juiced, but what other Defensive end slams his head in a car windshield when he finds out he makes the starting lineup….

Favorite Quote: “Starting Defense! A place at the Table!”

8.       BENNY “The Jet” RODRIGUEZ- The Sandlot Quite possibly my favorite baseball player growing up, the guy is known for the being in the biggest pickle in the history of baseball. Benny does the unthinkable, and hops the fence to challenge “The Beast” to a duel. He is successful, and eventually ends up playing for the LA Dodgers.

Favorite Quote: “Anyone who wants to be a can’t-hack-it pantywaist who wears their mama’s bra, raise your hand.”
9.       SPIKE HAMMERSMITH- Little Giants-  No, he wasn’t the main character in the movie. But Spike was a stud. Remember how he helped his dad unload the moving truck by putting the refrigerator on his back and carrying it in the house?
Favorite Quote: “Spike is in Hell. Spike is in Pee Wee football HELL”
10.   HENRY ROWENGARTNER- Rookie of the Year- The only thing better than his ability to throw the high stinky cheddar down the pipe is his last name. Although his major league career only lasted one year, Henry was a stud for the Cubs.
Favorite Quote: “Hey, we want a pitcher, not an underwear snitcher.”

Leave me your thoughts and comments on the facebook post…. See you all Friday morning Suckazzzzzz.

Happy Crappy Monday Volume 8.0

Happy Crappy Monday ……Volume 8.0
By: J Shannon
Well, the college football regular season is in the books, and it was one hell of a weekend. As you can tell, this Happy Crappy morning has rolled over into Happy Crappy Afternoon, mainly because I slept a grand total of 3 hours the entire weekend. Epic is too small a word to describe the weekend, even with a beat down from Auburn. Anyway, here it is boys and girls….Happy Crappy Monday “Afternoon” Skeezers….
1.       Cam Newton Rolls through Atlanta….
Yes, I attended the SEC Championship this weekend. And yes, I was amazed to watch Cam Newton single handedly lay a beat down on the Gamecocks. I put together 5 checkpoints on Friday that The South Carolina Football team would have to do to win this Game. Let’s take a look at how the Gamecocks measured up to these points…..
ü  Alshon Jeffery has an enormous day. He lit up Auburn last game for 8 catches, 190 yards, and 2 touchdowns. He will need to do the same again.

…..Jeffery had nowhere near the day he had the first game against Auburn. Alshon ended the game with 4 receptions for 38 yards and a TD….

ü  They stick to the game plan. Even if Lattimore isn’t breaking off big chunks of yardage, you can not abandon the run game. You have to keep going to back to the run, in order to keep Jeffery free.

…. Lattimore was also held in check. He ended up with 18 carries for 84 yards.

ü  They force turnovers. The Defense has to play by far the best game of the season. I don’t think you can sit back and wait on Cam to make a move. I think Ellis Johnson has to dial up some confusing looks and blitz packages.

…. We def. dropped the ball on this one. I was extremely disappointed on not only the lack of effort on the defensive side of the ball, but the game plan in general that was put together by Ellis Johnson. Rarely, if ever, did you see a blitz dialed up to put some pressure on Cam. RUMOR has it Stephon Gilmore had to stand in the back of the isl on the back of the plane for the ride home, being that his ass was beat so bad by Cam he couldn’t sit in his seat… Stephon Gilmore thinks he should be playing on Sundays, but I feel like he wouldn’t start for a lot of Friday night High School teams these days. What happened to you bro? Step your game up, you should be ashamed that Cam made you his bitch with 268 yards passing on you ALONE….

ü  They play Turnover Free Football. Against Florida, I said USC could make 1 turnover or less. Well that was because Florida’s offense sucks worse than a Dyson Vacuum. Auburn’s Offense is nasty. USC CAN NOT TURN THE BALL OVER AT ALL.
.... Yea, well you know how this one goes. Garcia had two crucial picks, and the rest is history….

ü  The Ol Ball Coach returns to form. Spurrier has to put together the best game plan of his career. I think the fact that he has played this game numerous times is a huge advantage for South Carolina.

….. Overall, I was disappointed in all aspects of the Game Plan. The offense was lack luster. The defense didn’t have a remote chance of slowing down the Cam Newton Express. Being that this was the biggest game in the history of South Carolina Football, you just expected the team to come out with a little passion….. Overall grade….

2.       How About Them Dirty Birdz……

Ok, I’m man enough to admit when I was wrong, and when I said the hiring of Coach Mike Smith was a bad idea; I couldn’t have been more incorrect. The man flat out knows how to coach. I’m not sure what type of brotivation he is mixing in the Gatorade up in Flowery Branch, but he has the Falcons playing inspired football. Regardless of score, and how much time is left in the game, the Falcon’s find a way to make the right moves and take the lead. All three phases of the team have stepped up when needed, and this week was no exception. Late in the 4th quarter, when the Falcon’s needed a spark, Eric Weems decided the best way to put points on the board was to return a kickoff 102 yards for a touchdown….I’m excited to see how deep this team can go into the playoffs….

3.       Destroying the National Anthem….

I’m a big fan of the Eli Young band, but that last thing you want to do as a professional artist is to abuse the National Anthem. Make sure you know it before you kill it…. The Chiefs fans let this guy have it this weekend….

4.       Oregon vs. Auburn preview….

Now that the dust has settled, it’s time to say it… War Damn Eagle. I have to pull for the Tigers in the game, being that they are in the SEC. I think this game has potential to be an amazing shootout. The game opened up in Vegas yesterday with Oregon being a 4 point favorite, and already today it has moved to Auburn being favored by 5. I’m looking forward to seeing the ball go back and forth up and down the field. But most importantly, I cannot wait to see what Oregon is going to wear. The Nike Corporation is going to put together one hell of a uniform combination for this game.

5.       My FAVORITE South Carolina Player….

Here you go fellas, I found a new favorite player on the South Carolina football team….

6.       Drew Stanton, Never again Bro…

Drew Stanton, the Third string Quarterback for the Detroit Lions, got to the opportunity to start this week. After rushing for a Touchdown, Stanton did the worse think he can do… he attempted to “Dougie.” Look, I got no problem with a TD celebration, or the “Dougie,” but make sure you know how to do it first….

7.       Gamecock fan support in ATL…

I have to admit, I was proud of how the Gamecocks traveled this past weekend. It was nice to see so many Gamecocks traveled to the big city of ATL, and I think the Friday night show with Patrick Davis was a huge success….It goes a long way to show that the Chik-Fil-A bowl didn’t hesitate to invite the Gamecocks back to the same venue within 3  3 weeks of playing. Let’s see if we can travel again….

8.       My Christmas list….

My December Christmas list is complete, and it is really simple. Malin Ackerman. She first popped up on my radar in an Entourage episode. For you avid Entourage followers, she was the third member of the 3-some with Sloan and E. She also stars in the movie Watchmen…. Let me know if anyone needs my address….

9.       SUPPORT US ON FACEBOOK….

Enough Said…. Add us ASAP.

10.     The Top 10 in the Top 10

With College football coming to an end, and yes I am a little depressed, Here is the top 10 as I see it  for  COLLEGE ASSISTANT COACHES WHO MAY BE MAKING THE MOVE TO HEAD COACHES NEXT  SEASON.

1.       BRENT VENABLES- OKLAHOMA DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR – The guy has put together a top defense year after year. It is only a matter of time before he gets to step into the Big Shoes.

2.       TROOPER TAYLOR- AUBURN ASSISTANT HEAD COACH – Most people won’t know this name unless you are a Auburn fan. Trooper is the Tool Shed who can be seen waving his towel on the sideline of an Auburn Game. But Trooper is a hell of a recruiter, and insiders are saying it is his time to get a shot at the top position.

3.       BUD FOSTER- VIRGINIA TECH DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR- Bud has been the DC in Virginia Tech for like 90 years. He always puts together a good D. Although he wants to take over after Beamer leaves, It looks like Beamer is in it for the long haul. Bud will get his shot soon.

4.       GUS MALZAHN- OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR AUBURN- Just won the SEC Championship, laying 56 points in the game. Just won the Broyles award for the Number 1 assistant of the year. It is his time….

5.       KIRBY SMART- DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR ALABAMA – Time to get out of the shadow of Nick Saban…

6.       TYRONE NIX- ASSISTANT HEAD COACH OLE MISS- Nix needs to make the jump to head coach sooner rather than later, being that Ole Miss looked horrible this season. He needs to cash in the chips while he is hot….

7.       WILL MUSCHAMP- DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR TEXAS… Yea I know he is the Coach in waiting at Texas, but how long can he sit in that position before he gets antsy?

8.       DICK BUMPAS-DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR TCU- Dick has been a multiple finalist for the Broyles Award. Yea he coaches at TCU, but he has put together a Defense in an area of the country that has him competing for players with top schools like Oklahoma and Texas.

9 & 10. YOU DECIDE- Give me some feedback, and let me know which college assistant coach needs a new gig. Best answer gets a Bro Nameth T…..

Leave me your thoughts and comments on the facebook post…. See you all Friday morning Suckazzzzzz.

Friday Free For All…..Volume 7.0

Friday Free For All…..Volume 7.0
By: J Shannon
It’s Friday People, the Friday before the SEC Championship game…. That means this Friday Free for All is going to be jam packed so damn tight full of breakdown and analysis of the big game,  it’s going to make a Honda Civic crammed full of Mexicans look like a H2 Limo…..Here it is boys and girls, THE SEC CHAMPIONSHIP Edition of the FRIDAY MORNING FREE FOR ALL……

----THE NUMBER ONE THING I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS WEEKEND:
1.       South Carolina vs. Auburn-
Let’s be honest, is there anything else going on this weekend other than the SEC Championship game? Not as far as I’m concerned. This game has a little bit of everything: The underdog, the potential national champion, the off field controversy, the freshmen sensation, and the old Veteran Coach. Does South Carolina have a chance to upset Auburn? Most people would say no, but then again, most of those same people had Alabama and Florida playing this weekend, so what the hell do they know? Here are, in my opinion, the key match ups to watch this weekend…..
·         Stephen Garcia vs. the Auburn Pass Defense- In the first meeting between the two teams, Stephen Garcia picked apart the Auburn defense the first three quarters of the game. Auburn's pass defense showed last week against Alabama that they don’t mind giving up over 350 yards of passing offense. Garcia has to be on point, and accurate. Garcia has to take what is given to him, and not make the decisions he did in years past.

·         Cam Newton vs. the USC Front 7- I would say Auburn’s offense vs. the front 7, but Cam Newton is the offense. The good news for South Carolina: Their defense has seen Cam before, and held him somewhat in check in game 1. The bad news: Cam has only gotten better since the last meeting. In order to have a chance to win the game, I think South Carolina has to make Cam Newton throw over the top of the front 7.

·         Turnover Football- Take away turnovers in the first game, who knows what would have happened. Turnovers are always important, but I feel like this game they will be the ultimate factor. IF SOUTH CAROLINA DOES NOT TURN THE BALL OVER THIS GAME, THEY WILL BE THE SEC CHAMPIONS.

SOUTH CAROLINA WINS IF……
ü  Alshon Jeffery has an enormous day. He lit up Auburn last game for 8 catches, 190 yards, and 2 touchdowns. He will need to do the same again.

ü  They stick to the game plan. Even if Lattimore isn’t breaking off big chunks of yardage, you can not abandon the run game. You have to keep going to back to the run, in order to keep Jeffery free.

ü  They force turnovers. The Defense has to play by far the best game of the season. I don’t think you can sit back and wait on Cam to make a move. I think Ellis Johnson has to dial up some confusing looks and blitz packages.

ü  They play Turnover Free Football. Against Florida, I said USC could make 1 turnover or less. Well that was because Florida’s offense sucks worse than a Dyson Vacuum. Auburn’s Offense is nasty. USC CAN NOT TURN THE BALL OVER AT ALL.

ü  The Ol Ball Coach returns to form. Spurrier has to put together the best game plan of his career. I think the fact that he has played this game numerous times is a huge advantage for South Carolina.

Final Predictions
At the end of the day, it comes down to Stephen Garcia. If he doesn’t turn the ball over, and has a big game, I think South Carolina has its first SEC Championship. South Carolina jumps out early in this game, and Auburn makes a hell of a run in the second half. But the magical comeback luck has run out for Auburn, and they miss the field goal for the tie at the end of regulation.

FINAL SCORE-   AUBURN- 28   SOUTH CAROLINA -31

-----Number 1 Thing that Pissed me OFF this Week…..
1.       The NCAA Rules Committee…

Look, I’m not hating on Cam Newton or Auburn. Auburn has handled this situation exactly the way an athletic department should handle a situation of this magnitude. And I think Cam Newton should win the Heisman for being the best football player in the country. The part that pisses me off is how bad the NCAA dropped the Ball on this matter. It comes down to one thing: MONEY. The NCAA is so afraid of the possibility of TCU playing for the National Championship, that they didn’t take the time to think out their statement before they made their final ruling. Essentially, they said that Cam Newton’s father broke the same rules that Reggie Bush’s father broke. Both Mr. Bush and Mr. Newton solicited money from a school in order for their son to play. What no one understands is this:

--The outcome for the Bush situation: 30 lost scholarships for USC, 2 years probation.
--The outcome for the Newton Situation: Eligible. Nothing else.

Like I said, I’m not hating, I’m glad he is playing. I WANT CAM TO PLAY. If South Carolina pulls off an upset, I would want them to pull it off against the strongest Auburn team, so there are no what ifs….

So why is he eligible? It’s really simple. In the words of Diddy, “It’s all about the Benjamin’s Baby.” TCU has 8,865 total students enrolled at its university. Auburn has 24,602. The National Championship is in Arizona this year. What are your best chances to fill an entire stadium for a National Championship? Make sure the team with the most followers and fan support has the best opportunity to make the trip. And as far as TV Ratings go, who would you rather see play: Cam Newton and Auburn vs. Oregon or TCU vs. Oregon. Now you are starting to get it……

-----Youtube Clip of the Week…..
---This week marks the annual Jimmy V memorial week. Jimmy V was a legendary coach, who to this day has raised millions of dollars for cancer research. Here is his legendary speech from the Espy Awards, weeks before he died. It is a must watch, and one of the most inspirational speeches in history. Enjoy.
