Friday Free For All…..Volume 4.0
Thank God it is Friday. Between the cooler weather and the time change, this has been a long week, and I have had a rough time getting out of bed every morning. But it is the weekend, and what better way to kick it off than a Friday Morning Free For All… By the Way, if you haven’t added BRO NAMETH SPORTS ON FACEBOOK, PLEASE GET BROTIVATED AND ADD ASAP!
----Top 3Things I’m looking forward to this weekend:
1. South Carolina vs. Florida - Alright, this is it for South Carolina. It is time to either do your business, or get off the pot. There is no secret that the winner of this game goes to Atlanta to play for the SEC Championship. It’s time for Steve Spurrier to earn all that money that he makes. This team has an opportunity to do something that no other South Carolina team has ever done. There are three keys to the game the way I see it.
a. Marcus Lattimore- The kid has to be 100% healthy, and has to run with the same fire he did against Georgia. This is the game to prove why you were a 5 Star Back.
b. Stopping the Run-Although South Carolina’s pass defense can only be found on milk cartons these days, I think stopping the run is the key to the game. Let’s make Florida pass over the top, make them win the way the struggle.
c. Turnovers- I’m going to go on record and say this: If South Carolina has at most 1 turnover, they will win the game. Cut and dry, if we protect the football, I feel we have the talent to outplay Florida.
2. Family Time This weekend- I will get my first opportunity to go home and visit little Miss. Hallie Shannon Wilson. Not to get mushy, but your boy is an official uncle. It has put into perspective just how old I’m actually getting. I’ll be in the big city of Flo-Town this weekend, and if anyone else happens to be there, I would be more than happy to get together and enjoy a good old fashioned American Brew…
3. College Basketball- Don’t get me wrong, I’m a major football fan. Football is my favorite sport by far, but I love me some basketball too. Of course there are very few competitive games the first month of the season, but at least you get an opportunity to see what some of the newest diaper dandies might do this year. For the record, as much as I HATE to admit this, I got Duke repeating this season….
----Top 3 things that have pissed me off this week:
1. The “Cam Newton didn’t do anything, Leave Him Alone” Auburn Fan- Really? You’re and idiot. I’m not taking anything away from his God given talent. The Kid is a star. But to continuously deny that Cam took money? If you believe that, then I guess you’ll believe me if I said the Dallas Cowboys could still make it to the Super Bowl this year. There have been dozens and dozens of these types of allegations in college football. And I’ll tell you what; I’ll send a FREE T-Shirt to the Auburn Fan who can tell me an instance where a player was “falsely accused of taking money.” Exactly my point….
2. The Brad Childress Soap Opera up in Minnesota – Look, I don’t like Brad Childress. No one likes Brad Childress, not even his own team. Is it a surprise that his own team made statements this week that they don’t like him? First, I think he is extremely overrated. What do the names of Adrian Peterson, Percy Harvin, Brett Favre, Randy Moss, The Williams boys, Jared Allen, McKinney, Loadholt, and Steve Hutchinson have in common? Yes all previous Pro Bowlers, but also they all started at one point for the Minnesota Vikings. If you can’t figure out to win with this group, you do not need to be a head Coach….
3. Tool Bag worker at the Dome- Hey dude, you work for the Georgia Dome. You have a button on your shirt that says “Ask me if you need help.” So we ask for directions to a place to park, and the Dipstick says “I don’t know, it is a sold out game.” I would have rather him tell me to kiss his ass, because he doesn’t feel like telling me. If you don’t want to be helpful, then don’t be an information guy at the Dome….
----Youtube Clips of the week:
If you need a good laugh, here is another great clip from the guys at QVC, enjoy.
---Shout-Outs for the Weekend
• Carrie Underwood- Watched her on the CMA Awards Wednesday night, and she is a dime piece….
• Brandon Jennings- Dude is a stud, dropping three’s and scoring whenever he feels like. I have respect for a guy who says he is not college material, goes overseas for a year to play, and comes back to the NBA to become a star.
• 30 for 30 on Maurice Dupree- What a great story, if you didn’t get to see it, def. take some time and check it out.
• Dirty Birds- What a game, what a game….
• All Veteran’s… Past, Present, and Future- Thank you for being courageous at all times, and allowing me and my family and friends to enjoy the free world.
• The Pass the Beer down rule- Shout out to all of the sports fans who know the rules, pass the money down to the beer man in the isle, and then wait to pass the beer back. It is great that no one gets upset about this, and that everyone knows the rule.
• BG- What a crazy week….? Good times, Great oldies…. I haven’t laughed that hard in a while… although I’m still heartbroken about the rain boots. Anyway, you’re on your way to getting Brotivated, you aren’t quite there yet, but you’re on your way….
• The Newest Bro Nameth Supporters- Matt Watts, Jessica Justice, Steven Mooneyhan, Roberto Haley, Sue “Pam” Smith, and of course BG. Thanks for reading and supporting…. You guys keep me Brotivated.
As always, it’s been a pleasure. Leave a comment if you disagree with anything I got to say, and I’ll prove to you why you are wrong….. Check in again Monday Suckazzzzz.

Hawks update, this weekends picking contest continued and Veterans Day Tribute
So the Hawks start out 6-0 and everyone including myself is feeling good about the team and the new offense. I am not going to bash them everytime they go on a losing streak and play poorly but I am going to call them out when they play this bad. Im sitting here with a good ole fashioned American BrewHAHA and watching them get absolutely drilled by the Bucks. I mean this is an absolute ASS kicking. Brandon Jennings is playing like no one is guarding him, Joe Johnson with his typical unassuming 13 points where you can barely tell he is even playing and Josh Smith turning the ball over everytime he tries to make a move to the basket.
I know it is early on but this is starting to turn into the Hawks under Mike Woodson. Lots of standing around watching Joe dribble around doing nothing to take a bad shot and hope we might get an offensive rebound. I know this is only 1 game but Im hoping it doesnt escalate into something more. I was pleading with the Hawks management to let Joe walk and resign Crawford to a 3 year deal. That would not tie our hands with the contract Joe signed which is just obsurd. You could make Jordan Crawford the off the bench scoring weapon and have some money to make a move down the road.
As I am writing this Jordan Crawford is looking like an offensive freak. Jeff Teague is pushing the ball everytime he gets it and the Hawks look great. To bad they were down 29 going into the 4th! Another beef I have with the Hawks offense is when things start to get dull and the shots arent falling we need to push the ball like madmen. Every starter is young and can run. You have maybe the best finisher in the league in Josh Smith yet I see the Hawks consistantly walking the ball up the court.
**Special shoutout to the Jewish Hammer, Mary, Bo Zimmerman, Pat "Luke Warm bath water" Clark, Coach LaFever and everyone else who read and comments on the blog. Thanks for the support

Batted Down at the Line
Cam Newton is the best player in College Football and its really not even close. Unfortunately for him, his dad took money from Auburn (He is guilty, THEY ALL ARE) to get Cam to play there and this is going to ruin Auburn's National Title hopes if not now, then down the road. If Cam does win the Heisman (Which I Think he should) once its proven that he did accept money they are going to take it back just like they did with Reggie Bush.
A report came out this morning on both ESPN and CBSSportsline that Cecil Newton, Cams father, wanted "more than a scholarship" for his son to go to Mississippi State. Here it is straight from the CBS article:
Prior to Newton's commitment to Auburn, one of the recruiters said Cecil Newton told him it would take "more than a scholarship" to bring his son to Mississippi State, a request the source said the school would not meet. Cecil Newton also referred the recruiter to a third person that would provide more specifics, the source said.
After Newton committed to Auburn, another source said an emotional Cam Newton phoned another recruiter to express regret about his change of commitment from Mississippi State, stating that his father Cecil had chosen Auburn for him because "the money was too much."
I am an Auburn fan as I went their my freshman year of College before transferring to South Carolina. Auburn fans are blind if they think that the Newton's did nothing wrong and this is not true. Why would someone make this up? Mississippi State is having the best year they have had in a long time so why would they all of a sudden just start making this stuff up? Why throw out a figure like $180,000 if you didnt have some kind of contact requesting that amount? It doesnt make sense to make any of that up. Where there is smoke their is fire. I cannot think of a SINGLE college athlete who has faced accusations like this that was proven innocent. It doesnt happen.
Look, if I was Cam Newton and my dads church was falling down and I could help him with that I would have probobly done the same thing. Continuing to deny is only going to make you look more foolish. Reggie Bush to this day continues to deny deny deny and yet they have his uncle on tape confirming Reggies family took money! I dont get it, just admit it and get it over with. Nowadays there are to many people out there digging around to get away with something like this. If he is proven innocent I will be the first person to stand up and say I was wrong but history tells me I am right on the "money" with this one.
The NCAA better act on this fast because Auburn staying undefeated while having an ineligible player is directly effecting the BCS including TCU, BOISE and LSU. If I am one of the 3 teams mentioned before and Auburn goes on to win the National Title but 2 years down the road they find out hes guilty and strip them of the National Title I would be livid. LSU lost at Auburn by a late TD and that is their only loss. If Newton is ineligible then LSU is prob the #2 team in the country right now and in the drivers seat for a National Title shot. Both Boise and TCU are probobly going to be on the outside looking in anyway, but if Auburn is stripped later on and they were screwed out of a chance to play for the NT I would try and sue. I don't know if thats something you can even do but I would try.

The Weekly Betty White Awards and Coaching Morons
Whats a guy got to do get some Betty White in his life? Simple, play like her. Get these boys a big ass Snickers....they need it.
The coaching moron of the week goes to none other than Wade Phillips. I know we are just piling on at this point but stop being everyones best friend (sound familiar Bobby Cox fans) and learn how to coach a team. His record with Dallas is still 34-20 despite starting 1-7 this year BUT that is unacceptable to Jerry Jones. Winning a bunch of games in the regular season with the Cowboys means absolutely nothing. Its all about championships and WP was not getting the job done. I wish the same mentality was shown by the Atlanta Braves all those years we won DURING the regular season.
Im going to post a new video each week with the BWA's that are some of my favorite. If you have a video you would like me to post feel free to hit me up on the email at BNsports2010@gmail.com and I will see if i can oblige.
Thats it for this weeks Betty White Awards. Make sure you comment on Thursday for week 2 of the picking contest. Its not to late to still enter.
- South Carolina- What the hell was that? Way to step up. I know in the grand scheme of things that game is irrelevant but grab yourself a Snickers and snack up. Biggest game in the schools history this weekend.
- Dallas Cowboys. Are we all getting punked? Is Ashton Kutcher about to pop out? How are you this bad? It really is almost impossible that you are 1-7.
- The Patriots. You just got thumped, and I mean THUMPED by the Browns! Who knew between Felix Jones, Darren McFadden and Peyton Hillis that Peyton Hillis would have the most TD's in their careers thus far. Tom Brady needs to stop straightening his hair before games and man up.
- Keith Brooking. Do you know a bigger toolbox than Keith Brooking? The guy hasn't made a play since the Y2K yet he runs around trying to get people fired up. He opened a bar in Atlanta called Pile Jumpers bc thats all he does. Now I don't know about you guys but this might be the most flaming pump up speech I have ever scene. This guy cant hold Al Pacino's Jock. "For each otherrrrrrr". Shut your face Keith. Im pretty sure this is why the Cowgirls are 1-7. Mel Gibson is laughing at this.

Happy Crappy Monday Morning
Happy Crappy Monday Morning……
Another Long weekend is in the books, and yet again it is Monday Morning. I’m loving the colder air, and the fact that the Holiday’s are around the corner. It is almost time to get out the turkey fryer, throw on a sweatshirt, and toss the football around the backyard. What a great weekend of high school football on Friday night, welcoming a new family member to the family, and listening to some good country music on Saturday night. Now that I got all the good out of the way, it is time for some bad…. It is a Crappy Monday Morning. Enjoy fellow Bro’s, and enjoy the rest of the week…..
1. Wade Phillips Resignation…..
I think it is time for Wade to do what is best for the team, and that is resign and move on so that the Cowboys can get a head start on planning for next year. Maybe you let Jason Garrett take over for the remainder of the year, but come next season, if I’m Jerry Jones, I’m cleaning house. Top to bottom, it is time for a change. You have lost all passion from your team. Jerry Jones needs to work out a sponsorship deal with 5 hour energy, because this whole team has the 2:30 feeling and looks Groggy the entire game. The team looks wretched, and looks like they are doing nothing more than collecting a paycheck. The only person on that team that deserves a full paycheck is Dez Bryant. No matter what the score is, even if there is no chance for a Cowgirl win, the kid is playing at full speed. It is sad that Dez Bryant’s effort is the best thing to come out of 2010 season for the Cowgirls.
2. Great Movie…
Paranormal Activity 2, Hadn’t seen it, want to see it, enough said. Let me know if it is worth my time….
3. Multiple Accounts of Little Man Syndrome Boiling Over….
I’m not sure what is going on with the little guys these days, but it seems they are getting a bit feisty. First, I’m watching Sportscenter Friday and see two horse racing jockeys trying to kill each other after a race. I’m not sure if this qualifies for midget wrestling, but there is just something funny about watching two guys who are 5 foot tall, weighing 110 pounds trying to fight. Honestly, how intimidating can you be at that size? During Sunday’s race in Texas, after Jeff Burton decided screw it, I’m putting Jeff Gordon in the wall, Big Dick Jeffy G decided he was going to walk up to Burton and throw a little man haymaker. He got a couple of licks in, but was quickly separated by NASCAR officials. BEWARE OF THE LITTLE MAN….that’s all I’m saying…
4. Dallas Cowboys, Having a Crappy Season Might Have a Benefit
So the Cowboys suck worse than a $5 Tijuana Streetwalker named Rosalia, (so I’ve heard), but there might be an opportunity to look at the good that might come out of the season. If you suck during the season, you are rewarded in the off season with a high draft pick. Now I don’t think they will get the first pick, because let’s face it, the Bills are pathetic, but it is possible they may get a pick 3-6? If that is the case, they will have a couple of big options. Maybe a Da’Quan Bowers out of Clemson to help Demarcus Ware out? Actually there are a bunch of D-Line options in that range: Stephen Paea, Robert Quinn, Marcell Dareus? After watching the game tonight against Green Bay, they may want to look at a DB. Why not a Patrick Peterson, orJanoris Jenkins? At least there is an opportunity to get something out of the 2010 season Cowgirl fans…
5. The Walking Dead
This is a new show on AMC about Zombies trying to take over the world. It is a little out there, but the best part is the show takes place in downtown Atlanta. You will see a lot familiar business and place while watching. Wasn’t too shabby.
6. Horseracing, a Great Way to Spend a Saturday Afternoon
Some friends and I spent Saturday afternoon recovering from Friday night fun, and lounged around all day watching football and relaxing. We turned on ESPN, and noticed the Breeder’s Cup was on TV. I’m not going to lie; it was a lot of fun. We ended up placing bets with each other for each race, and it turned out being a good time. I can def. see a way for college campuses around the country to start ordering the horse racing channel, and somehow turning it into a drinking game.
7. Cam Newton, taking that Cheddar…..
Cam Cam Cam, $200,000 for a letter of intent? I’m not going to bore everyone with the details of the investigation, but I’ll just say this, where there is smoke, there is usually fire. Remember back when Reggie Bush claimed he was innocent and didn’t take money? Yea, turned out he was about as guilty as Kim Kardashian’s ass is Rotund. Maurice Clarrett said he didn’t take money, until 2 weeks later he remembered that $20 K deposit he made out of nowhere. If you ask me, Cam has a little explaining to do… I’m just saying….
8. Oregon Does Things Their Own Way, and It is Bad Ass…
So I know having the Nike founder as an alumnus makes a big difference, but Oregon is bad ass. They have 15 different football uniform combinations, and never wear the same uniform twice during a season. Some people do not like their Swagger, I’m personally a fan. Now, they are taking their Bad-Ass-Ness to the basketball court. How Sweet is their new court?
9. Apologies to Chris Culliver…..
If you have read my articles over the last couple of weeks, you’ll notice that I give Chris Culliver some Hell. I’ve always thought he is a bit too cocky, and he plays a little soft. Well, my apologies Chris, because as bad as I accuse you of playing sometimes, you’re much better than the guys we put out on the field Saturday night. I’m not saying those guys won’t develop into great players, but they got beat Saturday like they stole something. The good news about next weekend; Florida doesn’t quite have a passing attack like Arkansas. The bad news is if we do not play better defense Saturday, the SEC East title all Carolina fans are wishing for will be referred to as it has been for the past 25 years, “Next Year is Our Year.”…..
10. The Top 10 in the Top 10
It is again time for the Top 10 in the Top 10… Last week I did my top 10 favorite Sports Movies, and had some complaints from you guys. This week’s topic:
TOP 10 YOUNG DEFENSIVE FOOTBALL PLAYERS I WOULD BUILD MY TEAM AROUND:
1. CLAY MATHEWS (LB) Green Bay – Absolute Beast, has many Pro Bowls in his future
2. DARELLE REVIS (CB) NY Jets – Kid has his own island, enough said….
3. CURTIS LOFTON (LB) Falcons- Many good years ahead of him, already a leader
4. PATRICK WILLIS (LB) 49ers – The new Age Ray Lewis

9. NNAMDI ASOMUGHA- (DB) Raiders- Teams don’t actually throw his way anymore
10. TROY POLAMALU (FS) Steelers- Always around the ball, always rocking people.
Big Things going on this Week…..
Lots of Big things are going on this week. Here is a reminder of what’s going down….

· College Basketball Starting this week (Lots of top 25 games)
· NFL Thursday night Games begin this week (Ravens @ Falcons)
· SEC East Battle for the Ship, SC vs. Florida
