The NFL is going to start "fining" players like a mofo for what they deem "hard hits". Is this not the most ridiculous thing you have heard in your life? Regardless of what the NFL or anyone else thinks, football is a collision sport. A very violent collision sport. Regardless of wether you add these new rules someone could die at any point. If you dont like it then dont play football! "Hitting a defenseless receiver", what does that even mean? Correct me if im wrong but any receiver who raises his arms to catch a ball is defenseless. You cant start fining these guys for stuff they have been doing all their lives. This last weekend I agree that the hits Jerome Harrison and Brandon Merriweather laid out were bad and should be penalized. Merriweather blatently lead with his helmet and thus should be fined and possibly suspended. He clearly was trying to hit Heap in the helmet as it couldnt have been more obvious. Jerome Harrison the same thing applies. Please stop this BS about you retiring! Everyone knows your not retiring. Where else are you going to work making 1/10 of the salary you are now? Get out of here with that crap. The Dunta Robinson, while it looked horrible, was completely legal. He hit him in the upper chest leading with his shoulder/head. Just bc Desean Jackson weighs 180 lbs soaking wet is not Robinsons problem. Robinsons shoulder pads rose up into Jacksons chin and when I saw it live I thought Jackson was dead on impact. The game moves so fast that these players dont have time to react. It sounds as if I am both for and both against it. Heres my point. With these new rules once a precedent is set the same backlash has to be the same. Once you fine a player for a "specific" type of hit, you have to do it everytime. This is only going to escalate and sooner or later there will be a player fined each week. Look wehat happened to the QB rules. You cant even go near a QB now without the possibility of being penalized 15 yards and getting fined. If the NFL wants to implement this policy they need to be very clear on what is wrong and what is ok. Not this vague "hitting a defenseless receiver" BS they have now. Clearly define what is going to be fined and get it right now before it gets out of hand. You can almost gaurantee that their will be a lockout now. The players are going to revolt against this and throw that in with the fact they have already been at odds with the owners regarding the labor talks and you got a recipe for disaster.
I really really dislike the Georgia Bulldogs! "Sic em dawgs beat Arkansas". Nope. "Sic em dawgs beat South Carilina. Yo no creo. "Sic em dawgs beat Miss. State". Thanks for playing. "Sic em dawgs beat Colorado". HAHAHAHA. Congratulations you have beaten Tennessee and Vanderbilt back to back games. EWWWWW big timing now. The worst part about living in Atlanta is listening to all of the ridiculous Georgia fans who call in and ruin every sports talk show in the city. "Georgias back we drubbed vandy and tenn yahhhhhhh cmonnnn bark bark bark bark". Thats the nonsense that fills the airwaves on a daily basis now. Shutup already. Your average as hell and even if you beat Florida (which who knows) Auburn is going to beat you down 2 weeks later. Is 7-5 a good season?? Apparentally it is. Mark Richt can't coach the first 5 games but now all of a sudden hes righted the ship? You beat TENN and Vandy! The worst TENN team in a decade and a team that needs no introduction to being the worst SEC team football wise in Vandy. You really thought you were going to compete for the SEC title with a freshman QB? "Its all bc AJ Green wasnt there". Actually you had AJ Green back against the almighty Colorado Buffalo's and STILL lost. TO COLORADO! It obviously didn't help that he was out but cmon. All of the "good" teams you have played so far you gave lost to outside of Colorado. So continue to feel good about yourselves for beating Tennessee and Vandy and LA Monroe. Enjoy the Poinsetta Bowl.

The NFL's fine/suspensions for helmet-to-helmet & "defenseless" hits is their first step towards fighting against the players union's argument against an 18-game schedule.
"See, playing 18-games will be just fine! We've already taken initiatives to decrease debilitating injuries and prolong the careers of our most important asset, our players!"
As great as the NFL has always been at marketing itself, these fools now can't get out of their own way. Expect a protracted labor dispute....
Im with you on that! The NFL is going about this the absolute wrong way. On top of that I heard on the radio that the players contracts would not be larger even though they have added 2 more games a year! that makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. There is going to be a lockout and IMO the owners better start kissing some ass bc if this turns into a real life "The Replacements" they are going to lose an assload of money
